The brain – an ingenious tool

Our brain at our disposal is a brilliant tool. It consists of a left and a right hemisphere. Both of these parts manage different spheres of human action and thinking. The left hemisphere is connected to the right side of the body and the right side of the field of vision of each eye, works in a linear and serial way, processes information in a linear way, is responsible for verbal and mathematical functions, remembers words and numbers, thinks logically and analytically, is responsible for reasoning, learning abilities. The right hemisphere of the brain is connected to the left side of the body and the left side of the visual field of the eyes, works in a non-linear way integrating many signals at once and processes information in a diffuse way, works in space, is creative and creative, thinks spatially, is responsible for body language and tone of voice, controls body awareness, remembers objects, places, music, works through intuition thinking holistically, is responsible for the sense of rhythm, emotions, dreams and imagination.

By activating both the left and right hemispheres we have access to all the tools to bring ourselves and our lives into harmony. The brain is electrically active through the brain cells of neurons, which constantly transmit information to each other. By conducting electrical impulses, such a neuron is constantly under the influence of thousands of stimuli coming from other neurons. Scientists have studied the bioelectrical activity of the brain using the EEG, or electroencephalograph in the form of a recording of linear waves characterised by specific frequencies, i.e. the number of oscillations occurring per second. The scientists isolated the following wave ranges:

• Delta waves with frequencies from 0.5 Hz to 3 Hz are generated during deep meditation and sleep are a source of empathy, healing and regeneration.
• Theta waves with frequencies of 3 Hz to 8 Hz are generated during sleep and deep meditation. In this state, it is possible to easily extract information from memory, produce creative thoughts and ideas, and have easy access to intuition.
• Alpha waves have a frequency range of 8 Hz to 12 Hz and are generated during relaxation. The alpha state is the resting state of the brain, relaxation. We are in this state just before falling asleep and just after waking up. These waves support overall mental coordination, calmness, alertness, mind-body integration and learning. In this state we direct our attention inwards and access both brain hemispheres, we begin to access a wealth of creativity.
• Brain waves between 12 Hz and 38 Hz are known as beta waves. Beta waves signify a waking state of consciousness. Focused perception of stimuli through the five senses. Logical, analytical and intellectual thinking.
• Brain waves with frequencies between 38 Hz and 42 Hz are called gamma waves. These are the fastest brain waves that process information from different brain regions. This frequency is recorded during states of extreme emotions and experiences.

By influencing the brainwaves in one’s brain, we can influence our health by bringing ourselves into balance. By quieting the mind, we are able to expand our possibilities in achieving life goals and success. It is enough to consciously put oneself into a state of relaxation, quieting the mind or meditation to lower the frequency of the brain waves and then the body as well as the mind comes into harmony extremely quickly and we are able to make the best decisions for our lives.
